The eight seconds of time bonus awarded to the rider who will crest col de la Loze in first position might not seem a factor to determine the winner of the 2023 Tour de France anymore. 1’48’’ separate Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar after the time trial to Combloux but stage 17 remain a highlight of the 110th edition as the Slovenian promised that the race isn’t over yet and the highest peak of the event at 2304m above sea level is a unique place for a great spectacle by the climbers, not only the GC duellists. Three years ago, Miguel Angel Lopez won at the top but this time around, the ascent of the former MTB path will be followed by a downhill and a final climb to the altiport of Courchevel. That will conclude a stage featuring 5100 metres of elevation!
