“At the beginning I was hoping that there would be more riders in the breakaway. I don’t know if Wout van Aert prevented our group from gaining more time but it’s from the moment we were only the two of us that I knew it would be very hard to make it to the finish. I’m use to this kind of breakaway though. Cycling is like this, so I never live with regrets.”
