Parade of the peloton

All they now need are their ‘dossards’ and frame numbers. When these are attached it will be time to race for everything else has been done. The preparations are complete and soon it will be time to race.
The 198 contestants of the 2013 Tour de France gathered for the first time a day before the eve of stage one for what was an atypical version of the team presentation. After a short ride through the town, riders from each squad gathered on one side of the harbour before being transported by boat to the site of the stage where they would stand before the assembled crowd.
It provide an opportunity for some teams to reveal new outfits and/or sponsor logos with Blanco becoming Belkin; FDJ adding “.fr” to their title and changing their usual white jersey to a predominately blue one; Movistar including an “O2” logo on the sleeves of their jersey; and Sky riders wore new kit with references to 21 Century Fox...
Past results were references, interviews were conducted, photos were taken and the public got to see the racers of the 100th Tour for the first time. And there was much rejoicing. Following the parade of the cyclists, there was a music concert and other festivities that concluded with a spectacular fireworks display to round out an atmospheric evening.
