The hometown of journalist Michel Denisot, a former director of the La Berrichone and Paris-Saint-Germain football clubs, is also something of a home for Mark Cavendish. In 2008, he won his first Tour stage here, overhauling French champion Nicolas Vogondy just 30 meters from the line! Cavendish has maintained a perfect record in the Indre’s prefecture, beating his great rival of the time André Greipel in 2011 and then getting the better of Jasper Philipsen in 2021 to claim his 32nd stage victory.
