The town was the setting for the start of Paris-Nice in 2022, the race beginning with a circular stage that saw the Jumbo trio of Christophe Laporte, Primoz Roglic, and Wout van Aert go clear in the final kilometers, the three riders finishing in that order. Just a few pedal strokes away, in the neighboring town of Mantes-la-Jolie, the opening stage of “the Race to the Sun” ended in victory for Tom Boonen in 2012, who was emulated in 2014 by Nacer Bouhanni. The final stage of the 2020 Tour de France, won by green jersey Sam Bennett, also started in Mantes-la-Jolie.
