Cycle City Label of the 2025 Tour de France : Applications are now open!

The small northern town is preparing for its Tour debut, but its neighbor Douai has already hosted a stage start in 1906. The peloton headed for Nancy on a 400-kilometer stage that concluded with future race winner René Pottier claiming his very first Tour stage victory. In addition to the sporting aspect of that stage, it was also the first time that the Tour left French territory, covering 75 kilometers in what was then German-occupied Alsace-Moselle.
